An HR Branding Blitz in sunny San Diego

The SHRM Conference is the largest annual gathering of HR professionals in the world—and in 2025, a major payroll tech sponsor wanted their brand everywhere attendees looked. Ballyhoo partnered with SEAT Planners to help make it happen at this year's event in San Diego, branding a full executive shuttle fleet that moved thousands of attendees between hotels and the convention center.

Execution & Results

The job spanned five transportation partners and multiple locations across San Diego—plus temperatures well into the 80s. With no shaded install space at the primary transportation yard, we sourced and secured a private airplane hangar at Gillespie Field in El Cajon, California that proved fit for the task. We owe a massive thanks to Jason Osburn of SAA Flight Training International, whose excellent hangar space became the staging ground for twelve full SUV wraps, all completed over two days by our install team. 

We also want to thank the team at Five Star Transportation, whose professionalism and flexibility helped this project run smoothly from start to finish. With vehicle rotations happening throughout the day, they helped coordinate drivers and ensure that all twelve Cadillac Escalades were exactly where they needed to be on time and ready to go.

Meanwhile, our LA-based crew fanned out across three additional yards to install sponsor ribbon graphics on 23 charter buses. The install required split timing across Royal, Highline, and Sun Diego yards—with most buses returning from service well after dark. Thanks to pre-scouting and overnight flexibility, every ribbon was installed on time and without a hitch.

Paycom designed a memorable sponsorship experience. With thousands of HR professionals moving between venues, hotels, and networking events, the Escalade and shuttle bus fleets acted like rolling billboards, never straying far from the heart of the action. Unlike static signage, fleet graphics follow the crowd, reinforce brand recognition, and position the sponsor as a central player in the event experience. It’s high-impact marketing that literally moves with your audience.

In less than a day, we successfully managed the removal of SUVs and buses, demonstrating our commitment to minimizing downtime for our clients. This ensured that each vehicle was ready to return to service without unnecessary delays.
